Oliver Queen is a billionaire playboy who begins the series being saved from an Island where he was allegedly stranded on for 5 years named Lian Yu. After returning to Star City he takes up the mantle that would eventually become the Green Arrow to take down the criminals that have failed this city with his team of vigilantes.
